Overview

We offer the CIPD Level 5 Employment Law module as a standalone award that can be studied entirely online using a mixture of eLearning lessons, interactive resources and consultation exercises. On successful completion, learners will achieve a CIPD Level 5 Award in Human Resources.

Our virtual learning environment is accessible 24 hours a day allowing you to set your own timetable and learn when it suits you – even on the move with the handy Moodle app available to download for Android and iOS.

This unit is suitable for those who work in HR or management, and those who have responsibility for implementing HR policies and strategies. It examines employment law in the wider organisational and environmental context.

Module Details

The purpose of this unit is to introduce the major areas of employment legislation and the employment law system, focusing in particular on ways in which day-to-day HR activities are subjected to some form of regulation. The unit is intended to provide an overview, rather than to focus in detail on the operation of specific employment laws, for those who need to understand and be able to evaluate emerging developments in the management of the employment relationship in local and international jurisdictions.

Course Costs

Study online for just £350+VAT. This includes CIPD registration, all course materials, personal tutor and access to our online learning environment, BePro Active. You will be required to spend 30 guided learning hours working through the materials on BePro Active, coupled with your own reading and research which we will guide you to.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit, learners will:

• Understand the purpose of employment regulation and the way it is enforced in practice.
• Know how to manage recruitment and selection activities lawfully.
• Know how to manage change and reorganisation lawfully.
• Know how to manage issues relating to pay and working time lawfully.
• Be able to ensure that staff are treated lawfully when they are at work.
• Know how to manage performance and disciplinary matters lawfully.
