Case Study: CMI Level 3 First Line Management
Who: Mersen UK wanted to upskill some of their first line managers to improve some of their skills such as communication, monitoring performance and building working relationships.
Method of study: After discussions with the HR manager and an assessment of the current skill level of the learners, BePro developed a bespoke training programme mapped against the assessment criteria for three units of the CMI Certificate in First Line Management and delivered this to two cohorts of learners on-site in Teesside and Scotland.
Learners had been out of education for a long time and were initially reserved; however Val created appropriate resources and broke the learning outcomes down in order to make the learning more accessible and break down barriers.
Achievements: The whole team completed the qualification, achieving a certificate in First Line Management from the Chartered Management Institute. In addition to knowing how to deal with performance issues within their teams, they also gained skills to improve their overall communication and relationships with team members.
Helen Plummer, HR Manager at Mersen said:
“BePro were punctual, well prepared and professional. The candidates enjoyed the sessions, and all fed back that they had learned something and the standard of the teaching was excellent. The trainer was really helpful and able to adapt the modules to the competency levels of my staff, and really made it relevant to our business.
I have also completed my CIPD level 5 qualification with Be Pro and have always found them to offer high quality support and guidance to all learners.”
