Duration: Typically 18 months
Level – Level 3

This apprenticeship is studied with a mixture of online workshops to study the knowledge required, and monthly meetings with a dedicated development coach. There are some face to face workplace visits required, and there will be an option to study in classroom environment when it is safe to do so.

Who is the course for?

Human Resources Support can take a general role or become specialist. Job roles can vary although will usually entail tasks such as:

• Providing advice to managers and employees on HR issues
• Contributing to the implementation of policies
• Taking part in the interview and selection process
• Contributing to performance management processes
• Analysing HR information

Eligibility

There are no formal entry requirements; this will be decided by each employer.

To be eligible for this apprenticeship you must not be enrolled on any funded training courses or hold a similar qualification already at the same level.

Employers who do not pay the apprenticeship levy may be entitled to 100% funding if the apprentice is 16-18. Alternatively employers are required to contribute 5% which can be split over a number of months.

Topics & Assessment

As part of this apprenticeship at no extra cost, apprentices will study the CIPD Certificate in People Prctice. Modules covered include:

• Business, culture and change in context
• Principles of analytics
• Core behaviours for people professionals
• Essentials of people practice

Each module is assessed by completing a written assignment of between 2000-3000 words.

Alongside the CIPD qualification, apprentices will have monthly visits with their development coach; this will involve a number of assessment methods including observations, professional discussion, questioning and viewing products of work as well as speaking with peers and line managers. Our trainers will provide on the job coaching to help learners put their newly gained knowledge into practice.

Delivery Model

Apprentices will be assigned a development coach who will guide them through the apprenticeship using a mixture of tutorials, 1:1 coaching sessions and online materials for self-study.

Workshops to study the knowledge part of the apprenticeship will take place online every month with other apprentices from different organisations. This gives apprentices the opportunity to share best practice and knowledge. Closed cohorts can also be delivered if required.

Human Resource Support Apprenticeship

The apprentice will complete the brand new CIPD Certificate in People Practice for no additional cost outside of the levy pot.
